New York City
Manhattan Bridge
I grew up 30 minutes north of New York City. As a member of the Mason Tenders' union, I did construction work in Manhattan during the summers that I was studying architecture in college. But I never created photographs of the Big Apple ... until now.
To get my creative juices flowing, I attended a photography workshop with nine other accomplished shooters led by renowned photographer and film producer Serge Ramelli. We shot from sunrise (looking toward Manhattan from Brooklyn) to sunset (capturing the Empire State Building from the top of Rockefeller Center and the Statue of Liberty from the Staten Island Ferry).
Enjoy this glimpse into a fascinating city.

Some shots look great in color; others are even more dramatic in black and white, like this image below of Santiago Calatrava’s World Trade Center station.
A few others made strong black+whites, too.
When the workshop was over, I did my own thing ... photographing Central Park, Little Island, New York Public Library, and Times Square.
Thanks for joining me!
